PRECAST CONCRETE PROJECT – BRISTOL FC STAND REFURBISHMENT
FP McCann supplied a comprehensive range of precast concrete components to Bristol City FC’s Ashton Gate Stadium refurbishment project, with McLaughlin Harvey serving as main contractor and KKA as architect.
The company delivered straight and curved terrace seating units, base slabs, vomitory components, wheelchair platforms, step blocks, parapets and gable walls from their Toomebridge Depot.
This major redevelopment increased the stadium capacity from 16,600 to 27,000 seats, involving complete reconstruction of two terraces with new stands and replacement of the East Stand lower tier.
While FP McCann maintained standardised component principles similar to other stadia projects, bespoke sections were developed specifically to meet Bristol’s architectural and structural design requirements.
