Slotted Posts and Gravel Boards (sometimes referred to as concrete fence panels) are suitable for timber fence panels, with slots for the full length to enable stepping on uneven ground.
Please note that 6″ gravel boards and recessed gravel boards are not available in Northern Ireland.
What is a Concrete Slotted Post?
The FP McCann concrete slotted fence post features vertical grooves (or slots) that extend along its length. These slots are designed to accommodate the FP McCann concrete gravel board while supporting various fence panels, typically composed of wood or composite materials. The slotted design facilitates straightforward installation, as the fence panels can be easily inserted into the grooves, negating the requirement for additional fasteners or fixings to secure the panels to the posts.

Gravel Boards
What is a Concrete Gravel Board?
A concrete gravel board is a long, flat panel composed of concrete, typically positioned at the base of a fence. Its primary function is to elevate wooden fence panels above the ground, thereby reducing the risk of rot by limiting the wood’s exposure to moisture and soil. In addition, gravel boards serve as a barrier to prevent soil, gravel, or other landscaping materials from directly contacting the fence.
FP McCann concrete gravel boards are favoured for their durability and resistance to weathering, which contributes to the longevity of fence installations. They are available in 150mm and 305mm heights and measure 1830mm long. These boards can be designed with either a smooth or patterned finish to complement the overall aesthetic of the fence.
