Progress Underway on New Heavy Prestressed Precast Factory at FP McCann’s Littleport Site

Fantastic progress is being made on the new heavy prestressed precast factory at FP McCann’s Littleport site in Cambridgeshire.

The investment in the site will allow for a fully automated, state-of-the-art mesh and heavy rebar production process along with the latest CNC moulding machines. The buildings will incorporate several 50+ tonne overhead cranes, enabling the manufacture of very large heavy precast/prestressed elements, serving the industrial, commercial, structural and infrastructure markets.

The additional ability to offer larger, heavier elements supports our goal of providing customers with the tools to achieve modern methods of construction, hence lessening carbon footprint, shortening programme times, and ultimately bringing cost savings to their clients.

The Littleport site is the southernmost of FP McCann’s 12 manufacturing facilities, it specialises in bespoke precast products and a wide range of off-site construction products. The latest factory extension will bring the full area of the site to 60 acres, and will almost double the staff complement. It is perfectly positioned to serve the vibrant London construction market, and indeed the whole of GB.
