Pottagh Bridge Replacement

Existing Pottagh Bridge consisted of a three-span, simply supported steel plate Girder Bridge with intermediate piers which carries the Coleraine to Derry/Londonderry Railway line over the Articlave River to the East of Castlerock. As part of the Coleraine to Londonderry Track Renewal Project Works, the existing bridge was replaced.
Works included:
- Design of new bridge and obtaining approvals
- Demolition of the existing bridge
- Construction of new two-span concrete under the bridge with a ballasted deck
- Landscaping – planting & seeding
- River defences
