Mourne Cooley Gullion Geotourism Project

Client: Newry, Mourne and Down Council
Upgrading of 8 public amenity sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland within the Mourne, Cooley and Gullion areas.

- Binnian tunnel Western End, Silent Valley, Mourne Mountains, Co.Down
- Slieve Gullion Car Park, Slieve Gullion, Co. Armagh
- King John’s Castle, Carlingford
- Windy Gap (Long Women’s Grave), Carlingford
- Black Mountain Public Car Park, Black Mountain
- Tullaghomeath, Co.Louth
- Omeath– Co.Louth

This included:
- Construction of car parking areas
- Resurfacing of existing roads and footways
- Vitreous enamel entrance features
- Creation of picnic areas
- Exposed aggregate concrete viewing areas
- Street furniture including bollards, bins, picnic tables etc
- Feature Vitreous Enamel interpretation signs
- Soft landscaping including hawthorn hedge planting
