Design and construction to ensure that the railway line between Knockmore and Antrim remained available for diversion route working in a safe physical condition, suitable for running trains at 30mph.

Works included:

• Site clearance- vegetation, scrap rail etc
• Demolition of the disused platform
• Culverts repairs
• Bridge repairs
• Ballast- dropping, tamping and lining

• Sleepers- replacement and upgrade
• Re-construction of user-worked crossings
• Signage
• Track rehabilitation where slurry spots (wet beds) had formed
