How to Use FP McCann High Performance Concrete
Application Guidance
- When using this product, good site practice in line with relevant standards should always apply.
- FP McCann High Performance Concrete has a high early strength and is fast-setting. The concrete should be used within 30minutes water being added.
- Recommended temperature range for use is 5°C to 30°C.
- A typical 20kg bag will provide approximately 0.01m³ which will cover 0.2m² (approximately) at a depth of 50mm.
- Ensure all loose material is removed and surfaces are free from oil and grease.
- Once application is complete, protect the concrete from drying out by covering with a suitable material such as polythene or wet hessian sacks.
- FP McCann cannot be held responsible where workmanship has failed to meet the relevant European and British Standards
Mixing and Water Guidance
- FP McCann High Performance Concrete can be mixed using a traditional concrete mixer or by hand.
- 2 to 2.6 litres (approximately) of clean water should be added to each 20kg bag. Adding too much water will reduce the strength of the concrete, as well as affecting bond and durability, and it can lead to cracks forming. Avoid over-mixing the product.
- All components required are contained in the bagged product. Do not add additional products or materials.
- Do not add more water or re-temper after the initial set.
- Ensure the concrete is fully compacted prior to finishing.
Storage Guidance
- Please ensure unopened bags are stored in cool dry conditions, preferably on a pallet or shelf to keep elevated from the ground and protected from wind and rain
- If the product is stored correctly (as detailed above), the Chromium (VI) in this product will be within required levels for up to 12 months
- Use of this product after the declared storage period can be hazardous. Prolonged storage beyond 12 months may increase the level of Chromium (VI) and may increase the risk of allergic reaction following direct contact with skin.
