FP McCann’s Rock Boulders Put to Practical Use as Stunning Garden Furniture Feature, Walling and Steps
The rock boulders were used in a stepped garden area, overlooking the Fermanagh lakes. The boulders were used primarily to build retaining walls. They were also incorporated into other aspects of the project, including steps leading down to a gravelled outdoor seating area. This space houses a stunning table and bench feature, crafted entirely from FP McCann stone.
FP McCann’s rock boulders come in a variety of shapes and sizes; for this project, the stone was randomly selected from the quarry face and delivered to site. The stones were then set in place, without the need for cement. The resulting look is incredibly effective, giving a natural, rugged appearance that adds character to the landscape.
For the outdoor furniture, two large boulders were selected for use as benches, with a large flat slab placed on two upright boulders used to create the statement table.
Graeme Buchanan, owner, said: “The stone is exactly what was envisaged for the property. For the table, I wanted something unique to tie in with the surroundings. FP McCann’s rock boulders met the brief perfectly.”
