FP McCann’s Products Utilised in Redevelopment of Lisnaskea Household Recycling Centre

FP McCann supplied a range of precast concrete and quarry products to CivCo Ltd for the redevelopment of Lisnaskea Household Recycling Centre for Fermanagh & Omagh District Council.
FP McCann’s Clarke’s Depot in Lisnaskea supplied manhole rings and cover slabs, 5550 tonnes of hardcore, almost 800m³ of ready mix concrete, gullies, kerbs and communications boxes to the project.
The recycling centre now has increased storage capacity, as well as offering better sorting of recyclables. The £1.1m redevelopment project will also contribute directly and indirectly to reduced carbon emissions and the Council’s ambition of a net zero District by 2042.
Gavin Teague, Site Manager, CivCo Ltd, said: “We have used FP McCann’s products previously, including on the Sullatober Household Recycling Centre, which was completed in 2022. For the new Lisnaskea Recycling Centre, we required a number of precast items, as well as a large volume of hardcore and ready mix concrete. All products were delivered to site on a ‘just-in-time-‘ basis and we are very pleased with the efficiency of ordering and delivery and the quality of the products themselves.”
In total, FP McCann delivered 295 loads of hardcore and 116 loads of concrete as well as precast products from both our Lisnaskea and Knockloughrim depots using its own fleet of vehicles.
In line with the aim to limit environmental impact, the existing building and all existing concrete and hard surfaces were crushed and recycled as a sub base for the redevelopment.
Other improvements with the new site include a one-way system and better signage, designed to improve health and safety at the depot. It was officially reopened in October 2023.
