Leading building and civil engineering company Geda Construction are currently constructing a new inlet balancing chamber, a new inlet works and secondary treatment process of an asp selector chamber and aeration tank along with other associated pumping stations and in conjunction with mechanical and electrical installation on the site at Warrenpoint Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW).

FP McCann’s Coote’s Quarry, Armagh supplied approximately 2000m³ of ready mix concrete along with FP McCann’s Easi-Bloc™ to this project.

The project had to be completed within a tight timeframe and all materials had to conform to the required specification for consistency and strength.

The base of the new sludge tank required 600m³ of ready mix concrete in one continuous pour. With detailed planning between the supplier, contractor and pump supplier, the pour was planned overnight with deliveries starting at 6 pm and finishing at 5.30 am. Over 75 loads were supplied by 12 FP McCann mixer lorries.

Manhole rings and cover slabs were also supplied by our Knockloughrim Precast Depot.

Speaking on behalf of Geda Construction, Paul McElroy commented, “The FP McCann team provided efficient deliveries. We couldn’t fault the service provided, which allowed all the pours scheduled to run smoothly to the timescale agreed.”
