FP McCann’s Causeway Stone Used at Galgorm Castle Golf Club

Division: Quarrying

Main Contractor: Quinn Stonemasonry
Market Sector: Recreation
FP McCann’s Causeway Building Stone was recently used at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena, County Antrim.
The stone was cut and bagged by Stone Solutions, Magherafelt. Stone Solutions extract the larger stones from the quarry face, then take delivery of these at their premises. It is then expertly cut down to specification using a specialised guillotine, which leaves it perfect for bagged building stone.
Larger cuts of stone are used for walling and buildings, with smaller cuts further cut down for use as cladding flats and corner stones.
Our Causeway building stone is Basalt Stone, which is extracted from both our Loughside and Bradley’s quarry locations.
For this project, our Causeway Basalt bagged building stone was used on the walls and new exterior of the restaurant. This was to tie in with the existing Basalt Stone which had been originally used on the club house and driving range. A total of 15 bags of stone were used on this project.
Gary Harkness, Owner, Stone Solutions, said: “We take immense pride in the building stone and our premium cladding we supply to our customers and love seeing the character and elegance that it adds to each property. We have been using FP McCann’s Causeway Stone for a number of years now and are always pleased with the quality and consistency of the material.”
The stonework on this project at Galgorm Castle Golf Club was installed by Quinn Stonemasonry. It was completed in Autumn 2024.
