FP McCann Supplies Stone & Ready Mix Concrete for a New Wind Turbine Base in County Antrim

FP McCann has supplied over 500 tonnes of stone, as well as 277m³ of ready mix concrete, to O’Connell Contracts Ltd for the base of a new wind turbine being installed in Rasharkin, County Antrim.

The Ready Mix Concrete used for the base pour was a special mix including GGBS, which improves the concrete’s strength and durability and reduces the risk of thermal cracking. The main concrete pour was a continuous pour, carried out by FP McCann’s own fleet of mixer lorries from both the Knockloughrim Depot and Bradley’s Depot in Kilrea.

FP McCann’s ability to facilitate the delivery of multiple loads of concrete on a single day went a long way to ensuring the efficient fulfilment of this project.”

Financing for the project was supplied by Arena Capital Partners Ltd, who specialise in wind, energy, and property investment.
