FP McCann Mark Key Stage of Bay Road Project with Installation of the Pennyburn Bridge

Title: North West Greenway Network, Route 2 Bay Road

Location: The site is located adjacent the River Foyle at Pennyburn Inlet.

Client: Derry City & Strabane District Council

This key stage in the project saw the lifting into place of the 63m long and 4m wide Pennyburn foot and cycle bridge, that now connects the new 650m shared pedestrian and cyclist Greenway that runs along the banks of the River Foyle to connect with the existing path network in Bay Road Park. The project has been funded by the INTERREG VA Programme, administered by the Special EU Programmes Body and the Department for Communities, and is scheduled to open to the public later in the Spring.
