Title: Castledawson Asphalt Resurfacing Scheme 2022
Location: A6 Glenshane Road between A29 Castledawson Roundabout and the U5087 Broagh Road
Client: Department for Infrastructure
Description: The primary objective of the works is to overlay and strengthen the existing carriageway (approximately 4.0km of carriageway). The proposed works will waterproof, improve skid resistance and increase carriageway life across the site.
The works include the provision of the following Principal Work Activities:
- Carriageway surfacing
- Site clearance
- Raising of existing gully/manhole/service covers and frames
- Regrading, top-soiling and seeding existing verges/embankments
- Kerbing works
- Road marking; and
- Temporary traffic management
FP McCann previously successfully completed construction of Dual Acceleration lanes at this location in 2005.
