FP MCCANN COMPLETES SURFACING WORKS AT GAELSCOIL IN CLONES, CO. MONAGHAN

FP McCann delivers high-quality surfacing works at the newly constructed Gaelscoil Eois in Clones, Co. Monaghan on behalf of Broomfield Construction.

The project was completed by FP McCann; beginning with laying and levelling the base material, enabling site works to progress safely and efficiently. Providing a stable platform in preparation for base and topcoat surfacing layers.

Base surfacing was completed secondly to ensure a stable and load-bearing foundation. Followed by topcoat surfacing, including laying 1,066 sqm of base bitmac at a depth of 60mm and 40mm of Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) to the ball court and access road areas.

The main car park, which had previously been based at 60mm depth, was then surfaced with a 40mm layer of SMA, covering an area of 1,745 sqm. This material was selected for its durability and resistance to wear, ideal for high-traffic school environments.

The job included surfacing the play area, which involved laying a 50mm base and a 40mm top layer of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) with red 10mm chips, delivering an impermeable, durable surface and a vibrant visual aesthetic.
