FP McCann was appointed by The Department for Infrastructure as the Principal Contractor for the Moylinn Footbridge Replacement Project in 2025.

The pre-tender conceptual design of the replacement footbridge was completed by DfI and Amey with FP McCann developing the Detailed Design in Partnership with Design ID and Structural Design & Detailing.

Construction of foundations commenced in May 2025, utilising FP McCann’s C40/50 Readymix Concrete sourced from Coote’s Quarry Armagh, which was poured to form the abutments.

Subcontractor M Hassan & Sons manufactured, assembled and installed the single span structural steel truss bridge.

They were aided onsite by Quigley Crane Hire who set the footbridge into position. Traffic management was in place to ensure safety of operations.

FP McCann also supplied aggregated, precast Concrete Manhole Chambers and Blacktop to facilitate backfilling operations, drainage and surfacing of the approach paths leading to each abutment.

The replacement Moylinn Footbridge provides shared pedestrian and cycle access over Lake Road connecting Craigavon’s Active Travel Network.
