Project Description

FP McCann Completes 800m³ Pour At Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works

Status: Completed

Location: Enniskillen, Killyhevlin

Division: Ready Mix Concrete

Main Contractor: Dawson Wam

Market Sector: Water

Specialist civil engineering and piling contractors, Dawson Wam Ltd. has recently installed a clean water tank at Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works, near Enniskillen in county Fermanagh for their client, Northern Ireland Water, and have utilised FP McCann’s ready mix concrete.

The floor pour required 808m³ of C32/40 pump mix concrete which had to be poured in one day in a tight time frame. Due to the size and depth of the slab, two concrete pumps were required for installation. FP McCann’s fleet of lorries including 6 wheelers, 8 wheelers and artic lorries completed the pour in approximately 8 hours. All loads were delivered to the required strength and consistency.

FP McCann is also supplying concrete to the other elements of the project, including foundations, piles and walls.

Speaking on behalf of Dawson Wam Ltd, site agent Patrick McKendry says,

“I would like to thank the FP McCann team for the quality service and effort leading up to and during today’s 808m³ pour. We couldn’t fault the service provided, which allowed the pour to run smoothly to the timescale agreed. The base pour was an important milestone in our project, so the flexibility FP McCann’s team showed to accommodate the late date change due to the adverse weather was greatly appreciated.”
