FP McCann Awarded 2025 Carbon Savings Certificate from Ecocem
FP McCann is proud to announce that we have been awarded a 2025 Carbon Savings Certificate from Ecocem, recognising our significant achievements in reducing embodied carbon across our precast concrete manufacturing operations.
As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and our pledge to achieve Net Zero by 2050, we continually seek innovative ways to lower the carbon footprint of our products. This certification confirms that through our strategic procurement and use of low-carbon cement alternatives, FP McCann has successfully saved 2,592 tonnes of CO₂.
This substantial reduction was calculated using a market-based comparison of avoided emissions against the CMI’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for CEM II/A-L.
A Key Pillar in Our Low-Carbon Journey
The use of supplementary cementitious materials is a central element of our roadmap to low-carbon concrete. By replacing traditional Portland cement with more sustainable alternatives, we can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of our products without compromising quality, strength, or durability.
This achievement highlights the tangible impact of our sustainable procurement choices and reinforces our dedication to providing for the present while protecting the future. We will continue to work closely with our supply chain partners, like Ecocem, to drive further carbon reductions across all our manufacturing operations.
