Focus On: FP McCann’s Clarke’s Quarry

FP McCann’s Clarke’s Quarry & Precast Factory is located in Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh.

The quarry was originally owned by P. Clarke and Sons Ltd, founded by Peter Clarke in 1943, and was acquired by FP McCann in 2015. Clarke’s has a large product offering, and provides materials to a wide catchment area, covering Fermanagh, South Tyrone, North Cavan, North & East Monaghan, North Leitrim, North Longford and North Sligo. The quarry boasts two asphalt plants, one wet ready mix plant, precast production facilities, a block making facility, and a crushing plant.

Clarke’s Depot has supplied products to a number of key schemes, including the Marble Arch Caves Project, Lisbellaw and Cavan Bypasses, Teiges Wind Farm, Enniskillen Public Realm, and Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works, to which it supplied over 800m³ of Ready Mix in an 8-hour pour.

The contracts division has also worked with numerous clients over the years, including County Councils, the Water Service and private customers.

In 2021, the quarry took a trip down memory lane, resurfacing a local bridge in Enniskillen (originally constructed by P. Clarke and Sons in 1954.

Speaking at the time, Patrick Clarke, Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted to be undertaking the resurfacing work of The Rampart Bridge. The bridge holds historical significance for the quarry and for myself, with the bridge being constructed by past members of the Clarke family in the early 50s.”
