Regeneration works to the town’s waterfront and the retail core to complement the Town Centre Conservation Area. The objective of the works were to reinvigorate Donaghadee, transforming the visual appearance of the town centre, enhancing its appeal as a place to visit and shop, generating a positive economic impact.

Works included:

• Resurfacing areas with resin bond, exposed aggregate surfacing & natural stone paving
• Granite kerbing
• New storm drainage
• Utilities – under-grounding overhead services, diversion and protection of existing etc.
• New sea defence and seating wall

• Carriageway resurfacing and lining
• New signage
• Installation of new street lighting
• Street furniture including cycle stands, bins, bollards etc.
• Soft landscaping – the redevelopment of Marine Garden area including the planting of shrubs, semi-mature trees etc.
