Project Description

Client: Outdoor Recreation NI

The works were constructed through the grounds of Beech Hill Country House Hotel. The majority of the works were through a heavily mature wooded area containing several badger setts and bat corridors which were protected.

Works included:

  • Construction of non-bitmac category 1 to 3 trails including both upgrades to existing paths and new build sections
  • Revetments constructed from local stone
  • Timber boardwalk over marshy ground conditions
  • Installation of waymarker posts and interpretation panels

The new trails surpassed all expectations of outdoor recreation and the Beech Hill Country House Hotel. Since their opening, they have attracted large numbers of tourists, the local community and visitors to the area.
