FP McCann's concrete wheelchair ramp backyard renovation

FP McCann’s stone and ready mix concrete were used to makeover a backyard space in Magherafelt, complete with wheelchair access ramp. Over 28 tonne of fill stone was supplied for the initial groundworks. FP McCann then supplied 40N concrete to finish the yard.

The work was carried out by DMC Decorative Concrete, based in Swatragh, Maghera.

Danny McCusker, Owner at DMC, said: “This project required careful planning, due to the restricted access to the rear of the property. We used a mini dumper to move the stone to the backyard to fill up the levels. The concrete was then delivered to site and laid.

We created a gradual slope leading from the side of the house, levelling out onto a flat yard space that met the patio doors at ground level, allowing for easy wheelchair access to and from the home.

We have worked with FP McCann for a number of years, utilising their concrete and stone products in a variety of projects. We have always been pleased with the quality of the materials and the level of service provided.

A lightly brushed finish was added to the laid concrete, giving a contemporary look, whilst also adding an additional level of slip resistance to the surface. This project was completed in early 2026.
