Ballymena Park and Ride

FP McCann has been appointed as Main Contractor for a new extension to the Park & Ride at Ballymena Bus/Rail Station. This project is part of Translink’s “Better Connected” strategy, which aims to promote sustainable travel and improve public transport accessibility across Northern Ireland.

As a major infrastructure investment, the project will deliver 392 safe and secure parking spaces — significantly increasing capacity and enabling more people to enjoy the convenience of bus/rail travel. The new facility will support better regional connectivity and provide a reliable alternative to car-only journeys.

The expanded Park and Ride will be fully accessible, featuring:

• New covered cycle shelters

• CCTV, security fencing, and low-impact floodlighting

• Enhanced pedestrian access routes

The main construction phase will commence in January 2026. Please note that Parking and access to Ballymena Bus/Train Station will remain unaffected throughout the construction period.
