FP McCann has been appointed as the Main Contractor for St Patrick’s Link Road, Ballymena.
Title: St Patrick’s Link Road, Ballymena.
Location: The site is located on the outskirts of Ballymena and will provide a spine road between the A26 Larne Road Link and the A42 Broughshane Road.
Client: The Department for Infrastructure delivering a Department for Communities funded Regeneration Project.

Description: The project involves the construction of approximately 2.4km of new single carriageway road through the St. Patrick’s site in Ballymena to facilitate future development of the site and the surrounding area
The project includes spurs for access to Demesne Avenue and Farm Lodge Avenue although these will not be connected as part of the scheme.
There will be a combined cycleway footway along the eastern side of the link road connecting to various existing paths and to the National Cycle Network (Route 97). The project also includes the construction of a new signalised junction and toucan crossing at the Larne Road end of the scheme.
Other works include:
- Site clearance
- Earthworks
- Construction of retaining structures
- New surface water drainage system
- Extension of existing culverts
- Installation of Vehicle Restraint Systems

- New kerbing and carriageway and footway pavement
- New road markings and road studs
- Installation of new Street lighting
- Service alterations/replacements to NIW, telecommunications, electrical, and gas equipment
- Accommodation works including fencing and gates
- Earthworks and landscaping works including the creation of a compensatory flood storage area involving work within and adjacent to the Braid River and floodplain.
- Temporary Traffic Management (TTM)
