Work to improve the busy A556 trunk road between Knutsford and Bowdon in Cheshire by creating a new modern dual carriageway by-pass to the existing road has recently been completed. Highways England and their Tier 1 supplier Costain opened the new £192 million dual carriageway in March this year. The 7km road will carry some 51,000 vehicles a day and link the M6 at junction 19 to an improved junction 7 on the M56.
FP McCann’s specialist precast division has recently completed the manufacture and delivery of over 1,000 precast concrete columns forming part of the superstructure for two prestigious commercial buildings in Stratford, East London.

The Portadown Linkages Project aims to improve the linkages and connections surrounding Portadown town centre, including the People’s Park, Portadown train station, ASDA, the Meadows Shopping Centre, the Old Town Quay river access scheme and the town centre.
Balfour Beatty has commenced construction of a new state-of-the-art academy in Aberdeen. On completion, mid-2018, the new £47 million facility will cater for up to 1,350 students. Alongside learning provision, the three-storey building will also benefit from a games hall, fitness suite, six lane swimming pool, adjacent gardens and 3G all-weather pitch.
FP McCann’s specialist installation team is in the latter stages of completing the build of a multi-vehicle docking system on the huge Winvic Construction site at Kingswood Lakeside, Cannock, Staffordshire. The specification build ‘large shed’ project is due for completion in Spring 2017.
FP McCann has recently supported the first Morgan Sindall Group Innovation and Collaboration day with a stand featuring the company’s modular building solutions, architectural panel systems and precast concrete flooring. The event was hosted by Morgan Sindall and held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 21st February.
On Friday 20th January 2017, FP McCann hosted the Construction Products Engineering Apprenticeship cluster group. Attendees included employers from the construction industry, representatives from South West College and Northern Regional College, Gordon Best from QPA and Clement Athanasius from the Apprenticeships and Youth Training Curriculum Reform, Department for the Economy.
