FP McCann and Ian Macfeggan Civils Sales Manager of Durham based MKM Building Supplies, have generously contributed to a fencing project in Brasside, County Durham. The gentleman had recently become wheelchair bound and as a result was unable to maintain the existing conifer tree boundary.
As next door neighbour to the couple, Ian felt that the best course of action was to replace the green boundary fence with a simple-to-maintain timber/precast concrete post and gravel board fence. Ian approached FP McCann to see if they could help out and via National Fencing and Walling Products Manager Katie McGorty, the company duly obliged, supplying 8” slotted posts and 6” plain gravel boards free of charge.
To keep the costs to a minimum for the couple, the work itself was undertaken by Ian and another neighbour over a couple of weekends.
Commenting on the job Ian says, “My neighbours are over the moon! Thanks in a big part to FP McCann and their precast concrete slotted posts and gravel boards, they now have a long lasting, low maintenance fence.”
On behalf of FP McCann Katie replied, “We were more than happy to help out on this occasion. Ian approached us via John Sheridan who is our North East Drainage Products Manager and I took it up from there. This is a very worthy cause and one we hope that will make the couples life a little easier when looking after their garden”.
Katie adds, “FP McCann’s precast concrete posts and gravel boards are a natural addition to many landscaping projects and complement all types of timber fencing. We recognise that concrete posts in particular are the preferred choice of many of our fencing contractors and the general public alike, providing a durable low maintenance option.”
