FP McCann has recently featured at Willmott Dixon’s Supply Chain Expo held on the company’s major new Riverside development site in Rochdale, Lancashire.
As well as offering suppliers the opportunity to highlight products and services, the two day event included a programme of CPD seminars for buyers, engineers and construction managers. The £80 million Riverside town centre regeneration project was awarded to Willmott Dixon earlier this year and, once complete, will comprise of 24 retail and leisure units and a six screen cinema.
On the FP McCann stand, precast concrete flooring, structural and architectural buildings, tanks and chambers and walling products were all on display. Willmott Dixon representatives took the opportunity to discuss the benefits of off-site precast systems leading to a number of positive leads for the McCann team.
On the Riverside site, FP McCann is currently supplying its precast concrete ‘L’ Walls as an earth retaining structure, with the 4.0m high panels having a decorative reed design incorporated as part of the casting process. The panels are being supplied from Grantham and demonstrate the Company’s ability to produce not only functional precast products, but also offer finishes that have a lasting impact on construction projects.
Andy Cooper, FP McCann’s Precast General Manager says, “We are opening new doors with the Willmott Dixon group who are certainly embracing the ‘off-site’ built approach. The Rochdale Riverside Development is just one example of how our products can greatly impact on the quality and efficiency of their design and build process.”
