Title: Horseshoe Bend Path project Awarded to FP McCann
Locations: Carr's Glen Linear Park just off the Crumlin Road at the Horseshoe Bend
Client: Belfast Hills Partnership
Description: The Horseshoe Bend Path Project involves design and build of approximately 440m of paths across two fields as part of the Carr’s Glen Path network. The path will run from a shared access lane off the Crumlin Road to an existing path network within Carr’ Glen which is part of the Cave Hill Country Park.
Carr’s Glen Linear Park contains areas of semi-natural woodland, along the Field Boundaries and Milewater Stream. In summer, butterflies, including the meadow brown, ringlet and common blue, can be found within the 2No fields.
The objective is to re-grade and improve the existing desire line to create a user-friendly, high quality trail which is accessible to as many visitors as possible while causing as little disturbance to this sensitive site.
